Moviespecial Part 1 - Harold and Maude
Harold and Maude - einer meiner Lieblingsfilme. Erst gestern nacht brauchte ich wieder eine kleine Aufmunterung - Harold und Maude waren für mich da. Ich kenne niemanden, der diesen Film nicht LIEBT. Großartige, ungewöhnliche Ideen, feiner Humor und die unerschöpflichen Weisheiten von Maude - für mich ein ganz besonderer Film.
The self-destructive and needy wealthy teenager Harold is obsessed by death and spends his leisure time attending funerals, watching demolishing of buildings, visiting junkyards, simulating suicides trying to get attention of his indifferent, snobbish and egocentric mother and having sessions with his psychologist. When Harold meets the anarchist seventy nine year-old Maude at a funeral, they become friends and the old lady discloses others perspectives of the cycle of life for him. Meanwhile his mother enlists him in a dating service and tries to force Harold to join the army. On the day of the eightieth anniversary of Maude, Harold proposes her but he finds the truth about the end of the cycle of life.
Der Soundtrack zum Film stammt von Cat Stevens - besonders schön finde ich die Songs If You Want To Sing Out und Don't Be Shy. Natürlich mit Stammplatz auf dem iPod!
Kleiner Tipp: sowohl das Buch als auch der Film sind sehr gut in der Originalversion zu verstehen - die deutsche Synchronisation kommt einfach nicht and die englische heran. Notfalls eben mit Untertiteln...
Maude ist eine so exzentrische, fröhliche und einfach nur besondere Frau - klug, mutig, im Herzen jung geblieben. Das sieht man mitunter durch ihren eigenwilligen Geschmack. Trotzdem finde ich ihre Garderobe besonders charmant. Eigentlich ist Gelb bei einer Beerdigung nämlich tatsächlich viel angebrachter als Schwarz...
